The current limiter
This “lamp device” protects the device you are working on, we call it Current limiter.
If there is a short in the device connected to the outlet of the current limiter the light bulb will illuminate. If the device is drawing too much current the bulb will also illuminate, which can cause that the device will not be able to operate, for example a heavy amplifier or TV.
I always use the current limiter on PSU’s, TV’s, amplifiers, etc, etc, etc.
- Switch = double pole switch (switched N & L separately)
- Outlet = normal outlet
- Light bulb, I use a 40 or 100 Watt bulb. The 100W is the default.
Gert v.d. Knokke advised me to build one, so thank you!
