CCK clock signal – Alice to Budgie

The technical reason is that the CCK clock signal coming out of Alice is not clean enough to drive the input on Budgie.

It was cheaper for Commodore to clean the signal up using a buffer chip in stead of fixing the Alice chip itself. They never fixed Alice, the bodge wire was incorporated in later revisions of the board design (1.d4 and 2b).

Video DAC

This was a factory fix, it fixes the white reference, it pulls pin 16 to ground ( 20 or 21 ). This wire is necessary on rev 1A and rev 1B boards because a trace on the pcb is missing.
